  • Connecting to GitHub with access token

    catlight · 0 · Posted

Usually, when connecting to GitHub, you can use an option to "Sign in online", and CatLight will request all necessary permissions.

If you are connecting to GitHub Enterprise, or online sign-in does not work for you, use a token to authenticate.

To get a token from GitHub, open the token page:

    1. Go to GitHub
    2. Click on your profile, then on "Settings"
    3. Go to the "Developer settings" tab
    4. Click on "Personal access tokens", then "Tokens (classic)"
    5. Click on Generate new token
    6. Set expiration to "No expiration" to ensure that the token works indefinitely. You specify another value if needed.
    7. Select the

  • How to collect extended application logs

    catlight · 0 · Posted

To troubleshoot complex issues, our support team might need extended application logs.

Here is how you can collect them:

    1. Go to edit menu/settings/advanced and check "Enable extended logging". This will turn on the logging of requests and responses from the server. Sensitive data will be masked.
    2. Repeat the action that you had trouble with (e.g. connecting to a new server).
    3. Put the log folder into an archive and attach this archive to a private support ticket. Location of the log folder:
      • Windows: %AppData%\CatLight\logs
      • MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Catlight/logs
      • Linux: ~/.config/Catlight/Logs

Notifications are not shown when only "My Builds" filter is selected (Azure DevOps/TFS)

    catlight · 0 · Posted

This can happen for some CI builds that are running in non-batch mode. Due to a bug in Azure DevOps that incorrectly reports the user that triggered the build.

As a workaround, you can switch to batch mode

In Azure DevOps, go to edit pipeline -> triggers , and check the "Batch changes while a build is in progress".

Azure Devops (TFS) build shows "Microsoft.TeamFoundation.System" as a user that broke the build

    catlight · 0 · Posted

This happens because Azure DevOps incorrectly reports the triggered user for the build in continuous integration mode when batching is disabled.

    Workaround:

In Azure DevOps, go to edit pipeline -> triggers , and check the "Batch changes while a build is in progress".

Change state for pull requests that I voted on

catlight · 1 · Last reply by catlight

I am using Azure Devops. Is there a way of filtering out the pull requests that I have approved (or Approved with suggestions).

The main goal would be to have a "green" status icon when I have approved a pull request I am assigned on, instead of the status icon remaining blue until the PR is completed ?

Pull requests that I have rejected or "waiting for author", I would like them to stay in my action list.

  • CatLight 2.39 - Azure DevOps compatibility update

    catlight · 0 · Posted

New version fixes several issues that can occur for certain Azure DevOps users:

    • Problems with using PAT token for authentication.
    • Problems with multiple Azure DevOps accounts.
    • The app shows only pull requests assigned to the team, and not the pull requests assigned to current user.

They were caused by the same underlying issues of identifying the current Azure DevOps user, which should now be resolved.

We also corrected the list of necessary permissions that users need to use PAT tokens.

    Download link: https://catlight.io/downloads

Those changes are also present in V3 Beta.

How can I filter CatLight to show / notify only for my personal builds?

    BoPapa 1979 · 2 · Last reply by catlight

I am evaluating CatLight.  I work on a team of about 200 developers, and the noise from the build notifications is just incredible.

I'd like to configure CatLight so that it shows notifications only for my builds.  I'd also like to filter the dashboard to show only builds triggered for me.  Are these things possible?

I understand focus mode will only show when I personally break the build, but I'd also like to know when my builds are green.

Sometimes you might need to change the team that you are currently on. For example, if your current team does not have an active subscription, and you want to join the one that has.

    To change the team:

    1. In the CatLight app, click on the "Team" button, then on "Leave team".
    2. Click on "Enable collaboration" button on the dashboard and select the new team to join. If you don't see the right team on the list, ask the team admin to add you to the team at https://service.catlight.io

  • Why can't I see notification popups on Windows 11?

    catlight · 0 · Posted

Windows 11 introduced "Focus assist" feature that can hide notifications from apps.

If you don't get any toast notifications from CatLight, try disabling it by searching for "Focus assist" in the Windows search menu, and then turning it off.

If you have "Priority only" option selected, you can click on "Customize priority list", and add CatLight app to it.
