  • Jira does not show anything after connection

    catlight · 0 · Posted

CatLight uses Jira API to get the list of filters. According to Jira API docs, only the following filters will be displayed:

    • filters owned by the user.
    • filters shared with a group that the user is a member of.
    • filters shared with a private project that the user has Browse projects project permission for.
    • filters shared with a public project.
    • filters shared with the public.

If you don't see any Jira filters in CatLight monitoring settings, try saving a new filter in Jira. You will be its owner, and it should be displayed afterward.

  • CatLight 3.7 - July service pack

    catlight · 0 · Posted

This version contains multiple improvements and fixes, including:

    • Fix for high memory and CPU usage for GitLab connections. Previously the app could show OutOtMemory errors and have high CPU usage after having a GitLab connection for about an hour
    • Fix for missing accelerated notifications when different users connect to Azure DevOps server with different project capitalization, e.g. HTTP://dev.azure.com/test and HTTP://dev.azure.com/TEST

Option to completely ignore a build

    Dale Peakall · 0 · Posted

Sometimes a build on a branch is broken and its never going to be fixed. The branch may even have been removed. It would be helpful to be able to completely remove these builds from Catlight so the status shown accurately reflects things that we care about.

Error when the user attempts to save an empty build failure investigation comment

In CatLight 3.7.3, an error is shown when the user attempts to save an empty build failure investigation comment.

    Thanks, Neil

Please consider making F5 refresh CatLight

    Neil Justice · 0 · Posted

    Hello CatLight team,

It would save time for users if F5 refreshed CatLight. Currently the user has to move the mouse and click the refresh icon, whereas a quick F5 similar to a browser F5 would be faster.

    Thanks, Neil

A one-time Build Warning stays a warning even after remedied

Stephen Butler · 2 · Last reply by catlight

Brand new to the product.  Apologies if this question is ignorant.

We have one build pipeline that got a warning a couple months ago when an internal software scan service was in maintenance. Since then, there have been two successful builds, but in my Actions panel the build still shows as a warning.

Investigate and Stop investigation didn't change the status, so Catlight always shows as yellow even when everything has been green.

Is this by design?  If not, I'll file a ticket.

Copy link to pull request from dashboard

    Dmitry Kirsanov · 0 · Posted

Links to pull requests in Action list can only be clicked, which will open the browser. But what if I don't need to open that pull request, and simply want to send that link to someone. At least I would like to right-click it and copy to clipboard. Ideally I would be able to forward it to Microsoft Teams or Slack.

Allow to select browser or have internal browser (e.g. WebView)

    Dmitry Kirsanov · 0 · Posted

Application is opening links using shell. Instead it could allow to specify browser app, or have internal browser, such as WebView in Windows. The problem is - sometimes default browser doesn't have access to production environment / TFS etc. I assume it's a rare problem, but I have it.

This error appears regularly on daily basis

Alvin Sii · 3 · Last reply by catlight

    Hi

I have seen the error message below regularly on daily basis. I can fix it by re-authenticating with my Azure DevOps but it will come back again after some time. It is very frustrating. Can you please tell me how i can get rid of it permanently?

    Authentication with Azure DevOps?

Emmanuel Eriksson · 1 · Last reply by catlight

We trialed CatLight about 6 months ago and ended up not going ahead with it because we had issues with the Windows client authenticating against Azure DevOps. We didn't get to the bottom of the issue but I suspect it was a problem with users would had more than 1 Azure DevOps account (a regular account and one reserved for "admin" functions).

Has CatLight changed since then wrt to SSO authentication with ADO?

Support a drop-down menu when the CatLight icon is clicked in the macOS menubar

Jonathan Dodds · 1 · Last reply by catlight

On macOS, clicking on an icon in the menu bar generally results is a drop-down menu. Examples from the OS include "Control Center", "Time Machine", and "Sound". Third party examples are numerous and include "PopClip", "Alfred", "JetBrains Toolbox", "OneDrive", "iStat Menus", and "1Password".

Clicking the CatLight icon in the menu bar brings the open CatLight app to the front. Directly showing a dashboard (see "iStat Menus" or "JetBrains Toolbox") or providing a menu choice of which dashboard to show would be helpful.

  • How to use PAT(Personal access token) in Azure DevOps/TFS

    catlight · 0 · Posted

In Azure DevOps/TFS web ui, click on your user picture in top right -> Security -> Personal access tokens -> New Token.

    • In the organization dropdown, select "All accessible organizations"
    • Either provide a "full access" scope, or more granular access that should include:
      • Build - Read and execute
      • Code - Read, Status (for getting pull requests)
      • Graph - Read
      • Identity - Read
      • Project and Team - Read
      • Release - Read
      • Test management - Read
      • User Profile - Read
      • Work Items - Read and Write
    • You can set a long expiration time to avoid repeating this process frequently (e.g. 1 year)

Can I use Catlight to monitor all open and waiting Pull Requests from all team collaborators across a collection?

Bruno Rodrigues · 3 · Last reply by Bruno Rodrigues

I intend to use Catlight to monitor around 30 projects, each with 5 or so repos. We are using Azure Devops Server (self-hosted).

My planned usage scenario is to have Catlight just for the PR managing team (around 5 people). By default, Catlight monitors only items from the logged user.

    Use Catlight without VPN

Kim Blatter · 1 · Last reply by catlight

We have a question regarding access to catlight from an external network. The connection between catlight and tfs works perfectly from our internal network. From the external network, however, a vpn connection is absolutely necessary so that catlight can establish a connection to tfs. Without the vpn connection, the error message appears that no connection can be established. This is somewhat tedious for our developers, as they would only have to establish a VPN connection for Catlight Since our TFS is also accessible from outside without vpn, we wonder if this would also be possible for catlight?

    PR reminders

Adam Cobb · 1 · Last reply by catlight

    Hi,

The app seems great and I like the coloured system tray icon, but we particularly want it for PRs and what I was hoping is that it would have an option to periodically remind users if they have PRs they need to review (not just the blue icon), so a more direct reminder such as a pop-up notification.

Is this something that can be configured at all, or even something on your list of potential features?

    Thanks.

CatLight for macOS should support Apple Silicon

    Jonathan Dodds · 0 · Posted

CatLight v3.5.1 for macOS is Intel only. it is not a universal app.

Apple completed transitioning to Apple Silicon (ARM) chips in June 2023.

In the past CatLight Support indicated that ARM support is on the product roadmap and requires significant changes to the build infrastructure.
