Using v2.23.2. CatLight no longer displays on the Windows TaskBar.

Typically I leave CatLight up on my screen and in Focus mode so that I can follow my builds and deployments but not get the barrage of notifications. If another windows hides it I just go to the Windows taskbar to bring the window back into focus. If it was already visible, doing so will remove it from the taskbar. No biggie, I just go to the system tray and bring it back. But now it does not display on the taskbar at all. Is this intentional

What version of Windows do you use?

On Windows 10, there should be a taskbar icon when the dashboard itself is visible.

There was a change a couple of versions ago with the tray icon behavior. If you click it while dashboard is visible and focused, it will hide the dashboard. If the dashboard is in the background, it will get focused.

You can also select what notifications to show in settings.

Windows 10.

Up until a week or so ago my experience is that if the dashboard is hidden but not minimized, there is an icon on the taskbar. That is no longer the case. I can always get at it through the tray icon but it is damned annoying to have to do it. The dashboard is almost always hidden and I rely on the taskbar to put it in focus. I may try to reinstall and see if that helps.

As a workaround, you can open other applications without minimizing the dashboard. It will then stay in the task bar and can be accessed as before.

Most of our users have tray icon visible at all times, because they can see an overall status from its color. TaskBar icon was duplicating the tray icon, so it is now hidden in most cases.

Nope. That's what I'm trying to say. My practice is never to minimize the dashboard (unless by accident). In any case, EVEN WITH THE DASHBOARD VISIBLE AND FOCUSED, no icon on the taskbar. Is there a general Windows feature that can govern this for an application?

I discovered that somehow the configuration changed, either by Windows or by CatLight. I went into the taskbar settings and click "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" and then turned on the feature for CatLight. It now is functioning as I expected.

Thanks for sharing the solution!

When a new version of the app is installed, a path to CatLight executable changes. This can affect settings of other systems that rely on the executable path to identify the app.
