New User - Trial Issues

Hi,

I have just downloaded CatLight in the last couple of days, primarily to monitor our build pipelines in Azure DevOps, but I can see that it will bring benefit for our current DevOps work items, and also for Jira us in the future,

It looks great so far from the first couple of days of the trial, but I have a major problem. It seems to lose connectivity to our DevOps pipelines and my Dashboard just doesnt show anything in there any more, even though I can still see thigs set up correctly in "Settings".

I am hoping to roll it out to 20 users if everything goes OK, but this would be a blocker to us moving ahead if it is something that cannot be resolved.

Oh, and I also installed the CatLight extension in Azure DevOps.

Many thanks

Simon

By default, CatLight dashboard shows actionable items (broken builds, incoming PRs, etc), and recent activity attributed to your user(e.g. builds that were started from your account). If there are no such items, the dashboard will be empty. You can configure what to show in panel settings. To troubleshoot this situation, you can add a rule that will show all items in all states, and see if they appear on the dashboard - https://support.catlight.io/i472-how-to-configure-catlight-action-center

If dashboard is still empty, please send us a diagnostic report by clicking "help and feedback" menu -> send diagnostic report to support.

Sorry for the delayed response. There are no apparent issues in logs or configuration. The dashboard can be empty like this in the following situations:

  • There are no broken builds on branches "master|develop|dev|trunk|main|root|primary" from the list of builds you have selected
  • There are no builds started from your account in the past 12 hours (maybe they were started from the system account)

To troubleshoot further:

  • Try starting one of the monitored build pipelines manually from Azure DevOps UI(it should then be triggered from your account)
  • In the watchlist -> settings dropdown -> priority rules, uncheck "Only my builds" and save the changes to see if the recent builds have appeared.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I fully understand what you are saying, but I assumed I had set it all up correctly as I was getting notifications through (initially for pipeline builds), and then all of a sudden, they have stopped even though we have been doing lots of overnight builds etc.

I will send over the logs. I am keen to resolve this before my trial finishes, so that I can proceed with a purchase.
